Catching Up

Church Tomorrow

Our pastor is out of town, so one of the elders will be delivering the sermon. Both of the church elders are part of the south Wednesday night prayer group that we attend; and we heard from his wife that he was not able to make it this past time because he had been stung by a bee or something earlier in the day and was home with his eye swollen shut. So, I hope he has recovered and will be able to see both halves of the congregation in the morning! Tomorrow is also fellowship meal at the church so there won't be an evening service, but there will be lunch :) It actually worked out pretty well so that the elders only had one service to take care of.

 iPhones or theyPhones?

A couple days ago, each of my parents purchased an iPhone 4S. My mom is a slow convert to the digital age, but my dad could be a five star sales rep for Apple. I could just about bet money that my dad can convince you in less than five minutes that you are living a depraved life if you do not have an iSomething-or-other. At first, he got Lifeproof cases for the phones, but we weren't overly impressed with them so he ended up returning them for OtterBoxes. If I were to get an iPhone, I would get an OtterBox case in the same colors my mom did: olive green and black. It looks sweet :)

Today's Diet

Food is very important to me; in all honesty, I can't live without it. This morning I was privileged to try Sunbelt Bakery's Banana Nut Granola. That is the best eat-it-with-milk granola ever. I like a different one for yogurt parfaits, but this stuff makes some great cereal. For dinner, we tried smoked organic turkey hotdogs. Usually we eat chicken hotdogs, but I'm glad for the change. Chicken dogs are somewhat bland, and beef/pork hotdogs are way too strong and salty, but these were a perfect balance for me. Chili cheese dogs with Mediterranean quinoa and fresh corn on the cob made for eating high on the hog tonight.

 My Thankful List

 Joke of the Day

A news-editing professor, grading the results of a proofreading test, was devastated to notice this sentence in his own instructions: "Read slowly and carefully to sure nothing is missing."
Thankfully that didn't happen on my scholarship essay!
